A Letter From the Superintendent - Spring '24

Joe Sornberger

“These are the stories that remind us of the power of education to change lives and shape futures.”

Spring is in the air, and with it comes a fresh edition of Fly Together Magazine. I’m thrilled to present a collection of stories that capture the vibrant spirit and achievements of our school district. This issue is packed with stories that celebrate the diverse talents and contributions of our school community, from our accomplished team of professional educators to our standout Illinois State Scholars.

We’ve got a fantastic lineup for you in this issue. You’ll meet several of our Illinois State Scholars, students who have soared academically and have set a high standard of excellence. Their dedication and hard work are truly inspiring, and I’m excited for you to read about their journeys and aspirations.

But our students aren’t the only ones making waves. In this issue, we also shine a spotlight on the heart and soul of our schools: members of our staff. You’ll get an inside look at the daily lives and impact of a school counselor who goes above and beyond to support our students, a dynamic duo of elementary teachers who bring creativity and passion to their classrooms, and our new Athletic Director, who’s already making a positive impact on our athletic programming.

Each story is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and community spirit that define Jasper County Schools. These are the stories that remind us of the power of education to change lives and shape futures. They highlight the collaborative effort of students, teachers, and administrators working together toward common goals.

As you flip through the pages of this issue, I hope you feel a sense of pride in what we’ve accomplished together and excitement for what the future holds. Our school district is a special place, made even more so by the individuals who learn, teach, and inspire here every day.

Thank you for being a part of this journey. Here’s to another season of growth, achievement, and community at Jasper County Schools. Enjoy the read!
